I know of one for gameboy/GBA but not N64

No, I dont think something like writable cartriges exists for the N64.(outside of Japan)

hey wait didnt nintendo realease an add-on to N64 (damn I forgot what it was called) It was only released in Japan but wasnt succesesfull and nerver released anywhere else, and was sort-of like a sega cd
(you had to attach it to the bottom of the N64) and it had
special re-writable catriges for you to store stuff on it....(I dont know)

If that thing would've come out over here we would've been able to all sorts of shit with the N64 (3rd party apps, emulators, rom storage, ect.) [after its hacked and modded of course]

That Z64 looks very cool. Anyone ever hear of something that would allow you to connect your computer to the N64 through the cartridge slot? Basically a catridge emulator that receives your backed up game data from the computer, perhaps through a USB interface.

I have reasonable knowledge on how I might build one of these things, but where would someone look to find the standards/data formats/specs? Probably somewhere on this site, eh? I apologize if that's the case, I'm new here and curious about how I could pull this off.

Thanks
