Help wit neorage x 4.8

When i open neorage x 4.8
it asks me for a resgistration name and security key which i dont have.
doez anybody else have thiz problem.
plz help me out

There is no official emulator that comes up with version 4.8. The last version of NeoRageX is version 0.8c and I suspect what you are having right now is another hack version of NeoRageX. Try other emulators such as MAME, FBA, Kawaks or Nebula. :cool:

Wrong, the last official NeoRAGEx (http://home.swipnet.se/~w-50884/emulator/rage.htm) was v0.6b, only version 0.7 was somehow announced but never released, so every other versions are hacks. :rolleyes: Current status: discontinued.

Yes, version 0.6b is a final complete version and that one considered as an 'upgrade'.

Afaik 0.8c was not from Rage team, but that's' what it's said on ZD:


Upgrade v0.8c - 7/01/03 - Windows XP

The upgrade to NeoRAGEx is much smaller than the full version, so you don't have to download 1.5 megs all over again. You have to already have the full version installed to use the upgrade.

I think it's self explanatory, and I wonder why the ZD gives credit to that lame "releases".

As you can see on the Rage team home page (http://home.swipnet.se/~w-50884/emulator/rage.htm) it's was discontinued on 1999, and Retrogames report an e-mail with one of the authors on 2001 I think, where he tolds Nrx won't be oficially released anymore mainly because of the hacks (get it?) that cqme out. He said to hack a freeware emulator discouraged them a lot, furthermore "a personal tragedy" (sic) take them from the scene. I'll try to look for that info on RG, but I'm pretty sure that it was what happened.

Of course it's nice of you to help, but these codes are for a very old and inferior emulator, so please let the thread die ;)
