Hi guys,
i would say that this is out of topic, but i would like some help.
i am planning to get a new PS2 (slim) and would like some help.
is there any difference between the old PS2 and new one PS2?
is there a difference between the different chips (mod)- I will buy a european version and would like to play us and japan?
can we install a harddrive on the new ps2(how)?
thanks in advance

1. it's a lot slimmer and already has the network adapter installed
2. europe's ps2 is the pal version so therefore you can't play u.s. or japan games on it
3. no sony has cut off all hdd support so you cant install the hdd on the new ps2.

Yes, you can install a modchip but take care as the laser might be damaged easier than older PS2 playing backups. The reason it's burnt media are harder to read than original pressed CD/DVD, then the PS2 laser send more voltage trying to read the media. A solution it's to install some protection diodes fix, like a modchip. Some modchip team claims its product might do the same without any diode fix, but I'm not pretty sure about that
You can play games from your HD with a "USB Extreme" (like HD Advance) and a USB HD plugged to your PStwo

To make a working backup, do a 1:1 copy with software like CdrWin, CloneCD, Nero...
