Nintendo tries again to retake the portable gaming market away from Sony. :D

Most likely, anyone who plays it will go blind in a week or so. lol

Nintendo = biggest use of remake/spinoffs ever? Sorry but this is just a gimmick to get you to purchase another Gameboy for no appearent reason, Nintendo has mastered this technique already.

ya exactly. Its just another version of gameboy with brighter lights. What the hell is nintendo smoking? it wont help raise sales at all since ds and psp are on sale. Once again another gimmick by nintendo for their handheld products.

Trust me, as stupid as it seems, it will increase Gameboy sales. I already know guys on other forums who have more than one Gameboy/Gameboy SP etc. People will buy anything from Nintendo these days.

ok so nintendo realeases a third version of the gameboy advance

now all the little kids who see it are gonna want it even though they already have
gameboy advance sp.It is exactly that... a marketing gimmick to sell more gameboys. if nintendos smoking something it must be really good...pass that over here (only if its w33d).

SOME ADVICE FOR NINTENDO: STOP MAKING GAMEBOYS THERE ALRADY 5 VERIATIONS OF IT. WE DONT NEED A 6th.

i feal sorry for all the parents who are gonna get botherd by thier kids to buy them ANOTHER gameboy

edit: dont they already have DS why make another gameboy

yes it is, they are gonna keep trying to sell gameboys for as long as nintendo exist....i wonder if this is gonna be the last one.

i know my little cousin is gonna nag my aunt to buy him that gameboy...
she aready brought him the first GBA then he wanted the GBA:SP...he lost that one and started nagging her to buy him another one [and hes had that one for only couple of months now] and when he sees this one... he's gonna nagg her again for it even though its all the same shit.

And nintendo knows that is gonna be the case with everybody's kid
GB:color > GBA > GBA:SP > GBA:mini. Is it me, or am i the only who sees a pattern here.

Im not mad about the DS. The DS is cool.

Its a pattern alright and i'm one of those who is "silly" enough to get GB, GB color & GBA...
Well, I wont fall to Nintendo's trick again.

nintendo is really getting annoying with all these gameboys i mean next is gonna be another gameboy with even smaller carts then the ds with even a smaller screen to bring blindness to every one.

The first Gameboy sucked for it's time..
I think GameGear was way better. :D

i think so too. I ha a game gear myself. But gb cost much less, while game gear cost a ton plus their werent that many games for it

Watch the E3 press conference. Nintendo says that it isn't marketed towards people who have Game Boys already, but for the fashionable people. They use the iPod in an analogy, and IMO, it's a fair comparison - multiple looks (in faceplates), really portable size, etc.

And the DS was partially an experimental platform, if I paraphrase one of my friends correctly. It wasn't meant to succeed the GBA/GBA SP.

wow... interesting comment, but i still think it sucks.
while nintendo says they might not be marketing the mini gameboy towards
people who already have a gamboy, in the back of thier minds thats what
they are hoping will happen.

People will see the new gameboy and think "hey thats cool, its small, customizable, and is fashonable. Hey im gonna get rid of my GBA:SP to get that gameboy."

And the fact that they are using the ipod as an analogy makes it even more appealing to the people who are gonna buy it.

Ha. That's what ran through my mind when I heard that. I completely agree: why pass up on a potential market? It's just an unstated fact that they're marketing to more than the target audience.

onemic
May 23rd, 2005, 16:28
even tough they said the ds wasnt meant to succeed the gba they knew it was. No one cares for the gba now. they all have their ds's

TiredBoy

I'd beg to differ. Granted, I'm only one person in a sea of several billion, but I don't know of a single DS owner, and that includes quite a few GBA/SP owners from both Asia and America - one of them being a cousin who's been crazy enough to own almost every system made since the NES.

Maybe you're right. But I'd highly doubt that the 97% of the 25% of the video game purchases (which is probably a Nintendo-beefed stat taken out of context, anyway) made are solely DS purchases.

just found someting new out about the this gameboy micro. It MIGHT play mp3's and mp4 video files. And they said it was aimed at people that havent got a GBA but GBA owners are gonna want this now.
