For some reason my Mame will not play this game (Mame 32k.64 hacked should do it right?!!?) The game appears on the screen, but it won't play, saying I am missing files. I already have both the rom and neogeo BIOS, so what I'm I doing wrong?

Thanks.

You don't need a hacked (an old) emulator to play kof99. I recommend you to try newer emus like latest mame32, kawaks or nebula.

To help you we need to know which roms you have (or which are missing), but better from an updated emulator, because the romset may have changed, or perhaps you got an updated one. Then make an audit an post here the kof99 related info (the lines begining with kof99 and so on)

I'm not sure if you can give rom links here, but if needed PM me so I can tell you where I got the rom from (I'm sure the rom is complete though)

Afaik this is the list of needed roms from your Mame 32k .64 (without CRC, but it might do the job). It's an *old* set, as I told you before, now the problem comes because probably you got an updated set, perfect for newer Mame but perhaps not for older. What we need it's to know what Roms you got. And please don't post any Rom links ;)

Anyway, now the good thing would be to do an audit with your Mame: Right click kof99 on Mame game's menu and select "Audit", then copy & paste here the full text you got.

This is from the hacked version of Mame, I downloaded .67 and the game didn't show up. I remember that to get SVC to work I had to put a weird name on the folder, is this the case with KOF?

EDIT: ok I decided to get NEOMAME and the game works. However I cant get my controller to work :(

I don't know if Mame 32k .64 have a clone set "kof99a". If so, it should work. This is because it was the older parent set in mame, and thus the parent in mame 32k.

About NeoMame, you can try menu "Options" -> "Default game options" -> "Controllers -> Check "Enable Joystick input".
