I'm planning on getting into the IT field using the AF and it's schooling so the Computer Systems Programming job would be perfect, but I'm limited to 5 bases. One of the main reasons I want to join is the worldwide travel, not just Alabama. I know it's just one job but it would be my top pick next to the other cyber jobs that offer bases around the world

IT is a great sector of industry worth to learn and checking.

But there also cons like burnout less sleep.

What kind of specialist do you want become: computer engineer or junior developer or dev ops(administrator of servers and web).

Choice is yours im just hobbist.

About books worth to check are:

https://www.amazon.com/Operating-Systems-Design-Implementation-3rd/dp/0131429388

ttps://www.amazon.com/Operating-System-Concepts-Abraham-Silberschatz/dp/1118063333/ref=sr_1_2?crid=1B50NU49WB7VO&dchild=1&keywords=operating+system+concepts&qid=1604050245&s=books&sprefix=operating+system+%2Cstripbooks-intl-ship%2C272&sr=1-2

And much much more to go.

If you will be coding Learn C and C++.

If i remember well operating system linux is written in C.

In C++ usually are written drivers.

And one more thing you can also use Java old os java based was symbian.

Java helps with virtualization.

This is especially true, especially during the quarantine period. After all, now it is important to have a job with the possibility of home activities.
