Rom help - New To Emulation

Hi, I'm new, but I have an emulation console which has inbuilt emulation for PS1, but only has one playstation game in built, which is a .bin file, I've tried adding a PS1 .bin file onto a SD card but the console won't read it and play the game, I've seen people on YouTube be successful adding playstation games via a SD card, I just can't work out how to do it,

Which console ?

If not read SD card it should be formated in proper way.

Most common is fat32.
