Snes9x joypad configuration problems

I have Snes9x v1.56.1 on Windows 10 and am using a Tomee USB to SNES controller adapter. I set up all the input configurations for the SNES controller(which worked) but I can't hit two buttons at once. You can see both buttons are being pushed and flashing back and forth really quickly between them. The problem doesn't happen if I use keyboard configuration. Anyone else have any luck fixing this problem?

See if it is a gamepad issue, go to the run menu and type in joy.cpl

It sounds like a issue specific to that game pad adapter.

Gamepad seems to be fine - any recommendations on a better adapter?

For using an original snes check out
https://bliss-box.net for a all in one (use many controller with one adapter)
https://www.raphnet-tech.com/ used just for one controller.

for using other things I'm not the best to ask.
