MAME BIOS Issue (Super Mario Bros. 3 PlayChoice-10)

So this is the first time I have ever used MAME. I successfully installed Ms. Pac Man and Galaga, some of my favorites. However, I have the .zip as well as the BIOS for Super Mario Bros. 3 (pc_smb3.zip and playch10.zip), however the game will not start. I don't know what I am doing wrong, I think managing BIOS is different from the Namco CHD I installed. Anyone have any solutions? Thanks.

If it did start, but inserting a coin didn't do the expected thing, press 5 (insert coin), - (select cart), 1 (start game).

I'm extremely interested in purchasing a MAME cabinet. Does anyone have any for sale or will you build a custom one? I'm located in San Francisco.
