SSF Startup error

My emulator does not start up. It gives:

IDirectInputDevice8::SetDataFormat() error.
File : ./DirectInput.cpp
Line : 408
Function : DirectInput::Initialize

Any guess?

I believe its a win8 error. Are you using win 8 or 10?

Do yourself a favor and get the latest Yabause

I'm currently using Windos 10 , but the problem existed in the previous Windows 8.1 as well.
As for Yabause, I got it but does not run many games, such as Shining Force III, Iron Storm etc.

UPDATE: It Yabause Does run Iron Storm, but I cant seem to use the controls for this particylar game.

only that game? BTW: I have talked to the devs on many occasions. Unlike most emulators they are very friendly and helpful.
