View Full Version : Emulator Problem: DeSmuME ignoring Pok?mon D/P save file.

Hi everyone, I'm having issues with my Pokemon D/P game.

I'm running a randomized nuzlocke and I finished up after a gym battle, saved my game, and logged off.

Logged back in about an hour ago to find that the game thinks my save is corrupt, and proceeded to start my game from the start. I closed immediately, made a backup of my save and tried to figure out what happened.

So I open the DSV in Pokegen, to see if it had been overwritten, but no, Pokegen recognized the file as a D/P save and showed me that the save was very much still intact, since I saw all my old Pokemon, they all had the correct moves, stats, names, abilities, my Trainer info was right, it showed the correct items in my bad etc.

So I'm confused...

I decided to replace the save with my backup, which I just checked in Pokegen, and looks all in order. I load up the ROM, and to my surprise, it no longer says it's corrupt, it's just straight ignoring the save file and loading up the opening sequence without a mention of corruption or anything. I'm absolutely sure that my save is in the right directory (along with all my other saves, which work fine). If I play through a bit and save the game, DeSmuME has no problem writing over the save either, so the naming of the file looks to be correct...

Is is possible that Pokegen made the save unrecognizable? Is there any experienced Pokehackers around that know what to do in this situation?

Opening the save shows that my Pokemon are there and and complete, but either a) DeSmuME doesn't recognize the file, but still overwrites it, or b) my save is corrupt, but still completely recognizable in Pokegen

Any thoughts on the issue? I just want my Nosepass with Wonderguard back.
