snes9x gx | cheat help [on gamecube]

not sure if i am in the correct spot but i cannot for the "life" of me figure out how to add a cheat code to snes9x in use with the gamecube. it never asks to add a code. i have dl a cheat pack but i want to be able to add a specific missing cheat code. is this possible? if so how? THANKS in advance for any help.
