I already know, but this one has a poll.

I use the expensive crap, and frankly, it's the most vunerable to every self-downloading thing existing. Download rate: 90-100 kbps.

Fable
February 18th, 2005, 02:19
lol that's one "advantage" of dial-up

Jale
February 18th, 2005, 03:27
You may already know this, but remember that kbps is NOT the same as KB/s.

The bandwidth is measured as kbps and download rate (a.k.a. downstream) is better measured as KB/s.

My DSL has a 256 kbps bandwidth and can download at 26 KB/s.
Dial-up has a maximun of 56 kbps bandwidth and can download at 4 or 5 KB/s.

Download rate are not always the same... One day I was downloading at 0.01 KB/s

onewecallgod
February 18th, 2005, 04:06
kbps = kilobits per second
KB/s = kilobyes per second

just as FYI :)

Fable
February 18th, 2005, 05:25
my download is 5 KB/s if I'm lucky, but it starts out at like 22 KB/s and then it goes down...

Since i'm lost in terms or measurement, i'll just tell you that I download 6.5 mb rom in about one minute, you can figure out the rest if you care.

Jale
February 18th, 2005, 18:45
:my_rambo: That's fast. I'd download the same file in about 5 minutes.
