Ok the only real bottle neck on your system is the vga ( video ) That card will play n64 just fine as well as any generation before it including play-station. You computer also has an extra pci-e port for a video upgrade should you consider that at some point.

That said, your system looks to be find for pj64 ( n64 emulator ). Anyone else concur?

I need to know were to load an em for N64 I dont understand this question.

Okay ulao, "bottle neck" what is that? And I'm guessing you meant [CART] here not "car."

I dont understand this question.

I had to read that twice myself. I left out the word "I". I was asking if I were to load an N64 em would it place much more of a strain on my resources? :)

Btw, thanks for starting the thread... :)

Type-o's on those sorry.. FIXED. Guessing you know what that is now but if not, bottle necks slow stuff down.

Let me help you on this a bit. A computer will do what it can, if a program tries to stress it the computer will simply reject that request and run slower. This is the simplest way I can explain that. So no application or emulator will ever hurt/stress your computer. Instead the computer will just give less power to the requested. In the case of emulation that means slower emulation. Now the "bottle neck" here is the video card. So your video may be choppy and slow. IMO I dont think it will, but I'm no expert on low end systems. This is what they call a integrated video card and they are well known for being slow. Since you have a nforce chip set, that means the integrated card is a true ( but slimmed down ) nvidia card. This means its a good brand and I still feel its more then enough to run n64 games. This is the limit though, no newer console emulators will run.

Okay, got that. :) Also got "bottle neck." :) Is there a spell check in here, btw? Because I don't type I a hen, I use my email spell checker a lot and some sites like GameFAQS have in post checkers.

So now nothing higher than N64, but what about something lesser. So if I wanted to go retro and do BurgerTime or zOn Thin Ice or even PitFall ... could I load them with no problem even with the n64 onboard? I think all those games were for Intellivision. I think... hmmm...

headed to Google that.

Well if you feel like a change... Get a browser called firefox, it has a built in spell check. So anything you type is always spell checked. I assume you are using internet explorer? May be a bit of a pardgm shift for you but its worth it. There is also chrome that many people like. Though, no TEZ does not have a spell checker.

Yes, lesser is always doable. Those are from the atari days, you need stellx (http://stella.sourceforge.net/)for that. Works with keyboard out of the box, so no set up. FYI, atari threatened us for copy write issues. I dont know where we stand on that but tread lightly on the subject. again if you have more question its always best to make new threads.

I'm glad you brought up the browser thing. Is there a forum here for such issues or questions?

So now, Yes... I'll tread lightly. Although, I like to do behind the screen talking via PM in-site, How is it you say you don't have PMing. Is it an option? I thought it was standard. Oh, do you mean you CHOSE not to accept PMs? Someone told me in another site that what is said even in PMs is viewable by admins if they so desire. Is that true here also. Oh, I'm sorry, here I am assuming you're admins or a mod.

Oh, do you mean you CHOSE not to accept PMs? Not sure where you got that from, unless it was an assumption. Yes If someone PM's me with nonsense I will not reply.

I am assuming you're admins or a mod. Its a good assumption since I edited your post...

[edit]to turn off PMs see option at the last post in this thread. To not receive PMS from a user you have to block someone, if you do that you want be able to read their posts. Me personally, I dont really reply to PM's unless I know the person. I think you sent me a PM about sending me... and this is a quote from memory... "programmed EM to test". Now going back to before I got to know you, this I consider absolute nonsense. No offense, I just dont have time for that. Also I wont reply to things that you can ask on the forums. If you have a personal favor I will reply. Makes sense if you think about it hence the p in PM meaning personal.

I never said that?

This is your actual statement: [I dont have a PM, unless you mean that first one?]
Now maybe I misunderstood it. Maybe you were saying you don't have a msg in your PM box. I sent you a PM very soon after I opened the other thread. :)

Not sure where you got that from, unless it was an assumption. Yes If someone PM's me with nonsense I will not reply.

Before you dismiss someone's query as "nonsense" remember that there are a lot of "clules" :) computer owners out there. My SN hasn't been wasted on you has it? :)

Anytime I send someone a PM or ala "The Twit" a DM, it is personal and not for public view. I am trusting that person with personal info. :)

But seriously, isn't the choice to recieve PMs a simple matter of checking a box in most sites? Why does it mean blocking someone here? The snow outside has my headbanging. My fault for looking out the window. I love snow, what can I say... :)

LOL oh boy. See this is why abbreviating everything is stupid. Though you seem to insist in talking this way. If you undo the abbreviation its much easier to follow. I dont have a person message, unless you mean that first one? So yes as you guessed I meant in my box.

Before you dismiss someone's query as "nonsense" remember that there are a lot of "clules" computer owners out there. My SN has been wasted on you has it? Your right and they have no right just picking someone and assume they are going to get a reply. This is not a job, we dont get paid for this. The forums are set up for people that dont have a clue ( newbies ) so just post away. Your thinking more along the lines of support help. Personal messages are just that, for Personal mattes.

Wow this I'm confused about?

Anytime I send someone a PM or ala "The Twit" a DM, it is personal and not for public view. I am trusting that person with personal info. I dont know what any of that means. From what I recall you wanted me to test some file for you and send it to me. Now again, now that I know you, I'd be able to answer that but at the time? Me replying to that would be ( I'll bleep out what I would say for you consideration ). F*** you, who do you think you are? I'm not going to trust your S**** file, I dont know you from jack. . So instead of doing that I just worked with your issue. I mean you dont realize it and I know that now, but people do this. Its not uncommon for people to try to infect others with these types of tricks. Downloading a file from someone you dont know should never be done likely. To expect someone you dont know in being that trusting... not in this day in age. So my thoughts where, ummmm ya ok, WIERDO! I'll just try to help HIM ( before I know you were not a dude LOL ) on the forums.

Its a forum package decision. emulator zone does not have that option, that is all.[edit: this is not the case. you can turn off PM's and you can only receive from admins/moderators. However you can not turn off PM from a single user. Since I like to keep my PM's open I would not use those options.]

By "Box" I meant User Bar. You know that brown bar at the top with the words Private Messages. Anyway, moving on. :)

ulaoulao, do you honestly believe that only newbies post queries in here. If you consider yourself to be tech savvynot just Em savvy, have you ever had a problem that you needed to go to someone else with INRE your comp? If you have you're not a newbie. A site that offers help offers it to anyone posting. no one here offering help should ask the OP, "Are you a newbie?"

Sometimes the OP has hung around the site and noticed posts long enough that when they do send a PM, it's to someone they coonsider knowledgeable and can most likely help them. It's not a put down or an assumption on their part.

ulao, TE helps people with a variety of problems but the name smacks of emulator problems. Not newbies with emulator problems. :) Btw, if a comp has a virus or something, wouldn't it also be evident in a post like this not just something in the mail system? Legit question ulao. :)

Are you familiar with the site Computer Hope? They receive stuff from people they help all the time. even me. :) I get it, but don't be so squimish. This is a help site. Did you know when The Twit (Twitter) first came out and until recently Evan Williams didn't consider it a social site even though people did? It is what it is, TEZ is what it is, a help site. And yes ulao, I get that it's not a paying job; but it is a job none the less. :)

Its a forum package decision. emulator zone does not have that option, that is all.

Guess what!!! Oh, I hope this is okay... posting an outside link. After I mentioned about Burger Time etal, I found this:

http://www.free80sarcade.com/burgertime.php

Look at all the classic games. No "Thin Ice" but a myriad of others. This is great!

Okay tomorrow or so, I'll post in the computer help forum about browsers etc...

Well, my Ibuprofen is wearing off. HAGO...

Your name precedes you. Not only are you still not getting it, you are arguing my responses. This is not a debate? You are asking me questions and I'm answering them. Why in the hell are you debating answers? If you don't like my answers stop asking me questions. Thread close do to off topic and utter nonsense. OP needs to get a clue, not only in computers but general edict. PM's are for personal matters, forums are for help.
