View Full Version : How long until a consistent PS3 emulator comes out?

I know the PS3's hardware was really hard to develop for, but now that people know it's secrets it may be easier.

As seen with the PS2 and Gamecube, it took about 10 years (maybe a bit less) to get a stable emulator going. Do you see the same trend happening here? If so, the PS3 emulator could come out in 2016-2017? And do you think it would come out sooner or later than an X360 emulator.

You will see a ps4 before a 3.

By the time a smoothly running PS2 emulator appeared, high end PC CPU's were running like 3.2-3.8 Ghz. And the PS2 ran at about 300 Mhz. The Cell processor in the PS3 is clocked at 3.2 Ghz so unless we (the consumers) have its source code, and truly understand it's architecture, we wont see a PS3 emulator any time soon. We may have to wait until PC's are capable of doing like 10-15 Ghz before we can emulate something so foreign.
