I'm using pSX 1.14 to record PSX footage. The recording settings involve creating a recording file (.rcd) before creating the encoded movie. That means that the recorded file needs to be played back before creating the .avi file, which generally results in some output issues. I think this is because the recorded file emulates (with a script?) what you did rather than being a hard-coded recording.
What I'm trying to record is Extreme Battle from Resident Evil 2. Normally, the playback of the .rcd file plays fine until Stage 2 starts or when the transition from the first half to the second half of Stage 2 occurs (the electric car). I'm not sure why this happens.
The emulator also has a feature called re-recording but I don't know what it is used for. I can post an image of its settings and the resulting file if you wish.
