I've recorded a few short videos with Zsnes and it works well. However last night I played for around 45 minutes. I went to dump the movie, and 2 black screens popped up and instantly disappeared, and no dumping occurred. I tried to screen capture them but they disappeared so fast, here's what I got:

I waited a little while and tried again. It seems to be working. It was on this screen for a long time:

The game I was playing was on the title screen, just sitting there as it occurred. I figured it just needed some time, so I left it alone.I let it run all night, just in case, and it was still running this morning. I cancelled the process, and looked at the merged.avi file. It started off at the title screen, but then appeared to just be a jumbled mess of colors.

Here are my Zsnes settings for movies:

Here are my computer's specs:

Operating System: Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit

System Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology

System Model: Z87X-UD4H

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4770K CPU@ 3.50 GHz

Ram: 16 gb

My questions are:

1) What caused this?

2) What can I do to avoid this problem so I can record lengthy videos?

3) Is there ANY chance of saving that video I took earlier?

Thank you for any help you can provide, I really want to salvage that video if possible.
