No$gba Emulator getting weird scan lines(?) on Apollo Justice.

I just finished the first two cases of the game, and started the third then the text bubbles changed color and scan lines appeared on the bottom screen, then I reset the cartridge and the menu screen was the same. What is the deal? Is the game corrupted? I R confused.
I'd show an example but I'm new, so no can do.

hmmm, it might be a quirk with the emulator.
