Issue with SSF Saturn Emulator

I'm trying to play Burning Rangers on the SSF emulator, but SSF has been less than cooperative. Half of the time, I can play through a full stage without any issue. The other half of the time, though, the game gets stuck on a black screen or boots me back to the Saturn's system menu before the stage starts. Last time I tried playing, I got booted back to the system menu right in the middle of Stage 3.

Can anyone help me out?

Did you use the "ez settings" to set up the emu?

Also how are you trying to mount and play the game? Deamon tools lite or some other mounting software?
