How do i use Vram in mame32?

Is there a way to use Vram in mame to use my cards video memory like you can in kawaks? this can add alot of much needed speed to my games in mame. If any one could tell me how, thats great. Thanks :o

Unfortunately MAME doesn't handle VRAM access properly.

even kawaks doesn't do the job properly. It sets my video mode to 3, and i have to change it to 8 to get full speed.

Kawaks works fine with my system using vram. anyway, does mame use vram automaticly then? or do you have to set it? because i would just like to give it a try. How do you set it to use vram?
