Final Fantasy 8 not working at all

Hi guys, I don't usually ask emulation-related questions but this time I'm clueless. Besides, I tried to look up for similar topics and I didn't find any, so be patient even if my question is silly.

So, I got myself a backup copy of Final Fantasy 8, and tried to run it on my ePSXe 1.8.

Turns out it's impossible: I just get a black screen whatever I do. I tried to open the ISO file directly from the emulator, I tried to mount it via Daemon TOols, Nada de nada.

So, I decided to open the file myself to check: inside each of the four iso files, there was ANOTHER cd image file (in *.IMG format), together with two other strange files I've never seen before.

IF I try to open it with Ultraiso or similar, I just get an error message.

So I tried to download the game again.... I got the same file!
Is it corrupt? Is there something I dont' know?
I'm not posting my epsxe configuration because I honestly don't thing this had to do with the emulator...

Can you tell me what extensions were those "Strange files"?
If the extension is .cosi.bin and .cosi.cue you should download COSI compressor/Decompressor.Download it from here:
http://rveach.romhack.org/COSI/COSI12.rar
and then run it and decompress .cosi.cue or .cosi.bin to the folder where those files are.
EDIT:I myself use cosi to compress games that i don't play anymore and my compilations on DVDs are mainly compressed with cosi and 7zip.It is quite a powerful .bin compression tool (Talking about COSI)

Huh, I myself never came across .cosi before, the only special compression ive needed to deal with was .ecm

I came across many isos with the .cosi.bin and .cosi.cue extension.Those were highly compressed,and i can tell you that nothing has been removed from the isos.They are all perfectly intact.You should try compressing with cosi sometimes.That is if you want to backup your isos. :)
