I'm quite pissed off with the available NES emulators... even the recommended ones aren't really complete.
I tried VirtuaNES, Nestopia and FCEUX, and here are the flaws:
FCEUX: doesn't support Barcode (impossible to play games like Datach DBZ without it); VirtuaNES and NEStopia do.
Nestopia: doesn't feature frame advancing (a minor one for most players, but pivotal for those who make gameplay videos); FCEUX and VirtuaNES do.
VirtuaNES: doesn't run some Disk System games (shows an "unsupported format" error window); FCEUX and Nestopia do, with the very same files.

Anybody knows of a FCEUX build with Barcode support, or a Nestopia build with frame advancing?
