Game or Emulator video problems

Ok so im really confused here. I just got into emulators about 3 days ago and am now upset ive been missing out all this time. Anyways it seems pretty simple so far. I have PS1 working great but the first game im trying on PS2 is having video problems. Title screens work fine, but when it comes to running a video like an intro or chapter change, it starts but the video freezes and the audio continues. What is the problem here?

That is a very common problem with PCSX2.Download the newest version and use another plugin!

you want to mean that video resolution is poor? if yes in pcsx2 you can change it by pressing F1, F2 and other FX keys.

Well see that's the problem. I have PCSX2 1.0 and am using gsdx. It works great, but when the cutscene begins the gs drops down to about 5 - 9 %. I see no newer versions out there and I keep messing with the settings, but can't seem to fix it. Any other advice? Could it just be the games?
