What are some good co-op or multiplayer games for Consoles that can be emulated?

Been an alone gamer for long time, just yesterday showed my sister Phoenix Wright on the ds and she did far better than me on her first try. We tried few other games until i noticed, i dont have any two player games at all.
So what recommendations for any console that can be emulated, not sure if this is the exact right thread in the right section, please correct if i am wrong.

You can always play Console Fighting games with others. Racing games such as Mario Kart are also a good option. If you're able to go 64 or even use the Dolphin Emulator: the Super Smash Bros. games are very awesome to play. Tales Of Games are JRPGs in which you can fight alongside during the Battles.
