Sounds good, downloading now :D

Got a problem. Message came up saying dx8vb.dll was missing (DirectX8 Visual Basic I think), so I downloaded it and put it into the Survival root folder. Now another message has come up saying 'Run-time Error 429, ActiveX component can't create object'. WTF does that mean?

Well if you're using Vista or win 7 then read this manual
Manual & download link (http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=147321.0)
If the download links don't work please notify me.

Firs you need to download these 3 files:
dx7vb.dll (http://www.dlldump.com/download-dll-files_new.php/dllfiles/D/dx7vb.dll/5.03.2600.2180/download.html)
dx8vb.dll (http://www.dlldump.com/download-dll-files_new.php/dllfiles/D/dx8vb.dll/5.03.2600.2180/download.html)
d3drm.dll (http://www.dlldump.com/download-dll-files_new.php/dllfiles/D/d3drm.dll/5.1.2600.0/download.html)
Place those 3 files in your C:/Windows/System32
folder.
Run command.exe as administrator (R-click the
program and choose "Run as administrator) and
type the following:
cd c:\windows\system32(Enter) If Windows is not on your C Drive, replace it with the appropriate
letter.
regsvr32 dx7vb.dll(Enter)
regsvr32 dx8vb.dll(Enter)
A confirmation message will appear for both

Done that but a message comes up when I press enter:

The module "dx7vb.dll" failed to load.

Make sure the binary is stored at the specified path or debug it to check for problems with the binary or dependent .DLL files.

The specified module could not be found.

:(

EDIT: Tried using both cmd.exe and Commmand Prompt, but same thing happens.

Woops, suppose it helps if I download the VB6 thing. I've downloaded it, but where do I install it?

Important:It works on Win xp perfectly.
but have you tried to confirm the dlls. When you move the dlls to C:/windows/System32/
then you should receive a confirmation message.

I've put the dll's into system 32, but when I try to confirm it, an error message comes up. It's the one in my last post.

And I can't install VB6, it says its corrupted, but I got it from the Microsoft website. :glare:

Figured it out. Since my Windows 7 is 64-bit, I had to put the 3 .dll's into windows\sysWOW64. All this bother, and it was actually so simple.
