Looked real pretty, I'll admit.

Now if they'd only do a 3D version of FF1 and DW1...maybe Zelda? >.> <.<

Old news......

Yeah its a shame since CT was like the best rpg ever made....It destroys all the FF combined

i figure the main reasion why this was told to not be released is because they were trying to make money off someone else's ideas with out their permission.

Reminds me of something i learned about fare use in an ethics class.

They probebly wouldn't of gotten in much trouble if it was going to be a free game online.

It could be even better :) If they only had bought the license...

December 21st, 2004, 15:08
Assuming they could afford the liscense.

I haven't read much about this apart from this thread and whats on their site, so I might be missing something, but from what I've seen they're idiots did they really think this wasn't going to happen.

The game looks pretty decent though, shame.

Good art department... that's about it, sadly.

December 21st, 2004, 16:25
Can't really improve much on anything but the graphics, Waz. =P Well, besides upgraded sound and maybe some gameplay tweaks.

That brings up a good point, would be funny and sad at the same time if they made the game play suck.

Now that i think about it, I think the guy who came up with the chrono trigger concept left squareeunx, so maybe he'll continue it? That or make something just as good. I think he worked on that new gamecube game Baten Kratos [sp?]

Even if the guy came up with the whole idea of the game I doubt he has any legal right to make anything of it. Usually the company retains all those rights when you work for them and create anything for them to use as a product during your term of employment.

You're kidding, right TiredBoy? You think a good game, even a remake, is just about good art? If anything, good management, programmers and funding are the most important things.

December 21st, 2004, 20:55
Do you think that those guys have something to do with the cancelled Castlevania Resurrection project?

December 22nd, 2004, 18:00
Naw, Waz. I'm not that nieve, hence the "=P." As far as I know, though, you can't really tell much else besides the graphics and sound simply from screenshots or vids. I may very well be wrong on that point, though.

The quality of games is not determined by art or visual effects, it is determined by the gameplay and how fun it is. Art,sound, special effects, and numerous other things are just there to enhance the game.

FFX was a piece of garbade

You will puke a lot less if you learn to accept it.

December 26th, 2004, 05:15
I'm kinda going off on a limb with an assumption that a bunch of these posts were directed at me, so forgive me for any misinterpretations.

I'm not saying that the quality of games is determined by graphics or sound. I simply spontaneously poked Waz a bit for talking about programming and stuff, knowing that he would definitely know better than what I imply in my own post. I'm sorry for any potential confusion there.

As for FFX, it's better than 7, as far as I'm concerned. I rather like the idea of shying from ATBs and weapons/armor that pump damage.

I never liked any FF game's gameplay much. I really enjoyed 7 because there was something special about it. I genuinely did care about the characters, wanted to go to the locations, etc. - about the only parts with good gameplay for me were the tougher battles, and finding secret bits.

FFX was a masterpiece in my opinion. Not as good as 7 or 6 but epic in many ways.

About CT I am not really interested since I didn't like it very much.

January 13th, 2008, 20:17
motherf*ckers! that would have been epic! :(

lol, you beat the record of reviving an old thread (more than 3 years old).

Congratulations! :)
