Are there any good offline single player FPS' to download? I've looked for ages and can only find arena games, which are incredibly boring.

I suggest looking for some in the indie section of Steam. Big-name developers are sadly forced to focus on netplay due to modern gaming demands. Of course, I suspect they are quite happy for an excuse to force Internet connections for single-player given their stance on piracy and such.

The Half-Life saga is worth a try:

Half-Life.
Half-Life: Opposing Force.
Half-Life: Blue Shift.
Half-Life 2.
Half-Life 2: Episode One.
Half-Life 2: Episode Two.

You can get these games and other Valve games in a single pack for US$74.99. If people can afford US$60 for a single big AAA game, you get 24 ass-kicking games including Half-Life, Counter-Strike, Left 4 Dead and even Portal.

f.e.a.r is pretty sweet. its a fps with a bit of horror genre mixed in... play with headphones in the dark with the volume up and youll occasionally jump out of your seat.

Yeah, these all seem good, I'll give some of them a try.
