USB SNES gamepad with emulator?

I have a quick question.
I have a multi emu set up with my Jamma cab and was wondering if the common emulators for SNES supported the USB snes controllers you can get for the PC? If so, how easy is it to set up?
My idea is to get a controller (USB equivalent) for every emulator I have on there to make the console playing easier and more like the original.

Any help wit this would be much appreciated.

Many thanks

Jon

Pretty much every modern emulator supports gamepads. If your operating system recognizes it as plug and play or with the use of a driver then you are good to go.

Thanks very much for your reply.
I'll go ahead and get the USB SNES controller and I'm assuming its the same with Sega USB controllers too?

yes, most of the adapters for the retro controllers are intended to work with emulators. I actual make an all in one type of adapter so you dont have to get 5 or 6 types (see sig);)
