Try this page: http://www.free-webhosts.com/webhosting-01.php

You can pick the one that has exactly what you want.

If you want free web hosting you don't want to "register" there.

I have found one: http://www.tripod.com
I signed up by the following url: http://jappsmash.tripod.com/ (page is already uploaded, but under construction)

And do you think TRIPOD is a good web host?

Shut up! It's incredibly unimportant how good your free host is. Your site will get this far: 0.

It's a free host, your site will get nowhere, your attempts will be pointless. Do this, work on some web designs on your hard drive, but don't bother hosting it, other people don't want to accidently see it.

Ugh, I want to host my page anyway

Many free hosts are good enough to hold a live preview(during development) of a page.

So is a hard disk.

Lefteris_D
December 12th, 2004, 10:42
That's true. Even if you don't have a web server installed on your pc you can always just load the file in a browser.

Unless of course you want to do something stupid like use php

I'd most likely install Apache and PHP on my hard disk still. Not a big fan of putting unfinished things up anymore.

I know the feeling. It's stupid to work on something(php) and then have to upload it somewhere to see if there are any bugs.

Yet you still do it

Well, I've changed from Internet Explorer to Mozilla Firefox and I'll check my site under Firefox from now on.

And I will not make a complex site yet, because I'm learning the basics of HTML and JavaScript :)

lol it would be funny if he ends up with the best emulator site

Jale
December 13th, 2004, 01:16
 Maybe, but the emulator's section of my site is a 2dn plane page... It's not really focused on emulators...

WellWellWell
December 13th, 2004, 05:40
What are you focused on?

Jale
December 13th, 2004, 14:12
General stuff, like news, forums, jokes, emulators, etc...

Do you feel, deep down, that the Internet needs that and that you can do it well? If so, alright. If not, save yourself for something you really think is worthwhile.

Jale

Mmm... OK? Just wait :o

Misplaced arrogance.

Zach

Its a fair point all the same.

Sometimes I feel like letting my place die, but that would be too easy.

If I have to suffer, so should the rest of the Internet

freewebs but has banners after fue days
yahoo geocities can built a layout around the banner good html codes out there and can overlap

Jet Set Willy
December 19th, 2004, 23:21
But why choose either of those hosts? The URLs make the site lose credibility at an instant, and there are bannerless hosts out there anyway.

Jale
December 19th, 2004, 23:25
Banners doesn't bother me... just don't pay attention to them...
