Main point of this thread is general speculation talk. If it is an official statement, please supply the link.

so what is next? Super Wii, Xbox 3(72), Playstation 4 ?

My guess is the wii is up first. I mean the wii itself is pretty much a gameCube with a fancy remote. So they have had the most time to work on a new gen (7th) or what ever console.

I just wonder if Nintendo are going to continue with the entire wiimote motion thing, or if they will switch to controllers again.

It's my belief they will continue. For 2 main reasons. One the wii-mote extension allows for game pad use, two its quite a success so far.

I kind of like the idea of a portable unit shaped like a controller. That's like... the ultimate ergonomic portable; but I bet it would fail if someone tried, because people like their blocky square shapes and it would be hard to put that in your pocket.

Yeah I was just thinking about this idea the other day. How cool would it be to have the console||mirror of a racing game on your controller. Or a temporary on inventory system, and better yet your face cards for card game. Lots of potential here.

The more I think about it, the wii mite idea was perfect, leave it be. I'm glad the controller is coming back. In many ways this is a perfect console to buy ( backward compatibility rocks )
