has anyone had a smiliar problem? or solution?

im trying to play final fantasy VIII on epsxe,, everything works fine until i get into a battle, usually you should be able to see your commands where it might say your name HP , GF, Magic, Item etc. but nothing ever shows only my characters and the monters, i was starting to think it might have been the ISO but i also tried Final Fantasy Tactics and everything works but the map i navigate on, i can see the dots but no map,, not as serious as the problem i have with FF8 but it has something to do with my emulator i suppose,, because ive tested those games on PSXfin, another emulator and it works perfectly,, its just the quality is very trashy
i was wondering if there was anyway for me to play the games on epsxe without any glitches,, i think i have the proper bio and plug ins installed
not sure whatt to do im open to any suggestions, thanks for your guys help these emulators are great :confused:

try using another epsxe plugin

I found when using epsxe that Pete's opengl plugin is great and very customizable with resolution and shader effects, this could also fix your issue.
