Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131033
Processor: AMD sempron 3000+ 1.8 ghz
Will this processor work in the motherboard. I know they are old. I'm trying to hazard a comp together for a 9 yr old to play a couple games on. If you need anything else let me know.

Errr... Check if your processor is uses an x2 socket. I don't think sempron's do. You have to check your socket type

If the Sempron uses socket 939, then yes, it should work. A quick Wikipedia says that the only two 1.8 GHz 3000+ Semprons came in socket 754 and 939, so you need to check.
And there's no such thing as an "x2" socket.
