Game Problem: Problems playing Dirt to Daytona on Dolphin GC EMU

I'm attempting to play Nascar Dirt to Daytona using the Dolphin Gamecube emulator. I'm having problems with some of the graphics specifically in the menu areas. I've attached a picture showing the problem, there should be some kind of a message, however i'm just getting black bars. FPS while actually playing is decent, but not great (usually between 18 and 25 fps while racing, and 50 while in menus). Has anyone had this problem as well? can anyone help me fix this problem?

Looks like a texture issue, have you tried switching to open gl in your plugin, and if so have you tried the reverse?

You might also want to check the compatability list, it might be one of the ones that are buggy.

Ok, heres what i've done:
updated dolphin (i should have done this before asking in the first place)
changed plug in to openGL
game ran fine with the texture problem fixed, however i had extremely low FPS (1-2)

any ideas to this problem?

dual core enabled? Also open GL may be slow for that game, now that your updated you could try dx again.
