Problem with Crystal Rom and Virtual Boy Advance

Im using the newest version of Virtual Boy Advance with the Pokemon Crystal ROM, and i saved it while i was using the speed modifier, and now the entire game is sped up, without me pressing the button >.>

is there any way i can fix this, or do i need to delete the ROM and re-download it? If i do, is there any way i can at least save my game file?

for anyone who has this problem, turn your sound on >.>
you can even keep it muted, but starting the Virtual Boy with sound disabled sends its speed percentage through the roof >.>
