Pokemon silver entering codes

I'm playing pokemon silver on my KiGB emulator for macintosh. I'm on this website (http://www.supercheats.com/gameboy/pokemonsilvercodes.htm) and I'm wondering how to enter the various codes into the game.

KiGB has a built-in Gameshark and Game genie but I'm just having trouble figuring out how to enter the codes.
