I've been making a website for a college project, but I've a problem.
The website has become a fair size, about 30-40 pages and I need to
make the same changes to each and every page, lucky they are all
made from the same template.

Does anyone know of a good program which will allow me to search
and replace pieces of text from all the pages, preferably all at the
same time.

I could use notepad, but it would take me an age.

I found out how to do it in Dreamweaver.

HomeSite (v4.5 at least) can also do this -- even Find & Replace
recursively in subdirectories...

How is that done in Dream Weaver?

Dreamweaver does all the scripting for you. (eg. point and click a table on your site, and Dreamweaver will write up all the code for the table, instead of doing it manually)

If that helped at all.

In the end I used notepad as dreamweaver messed up the return lines.

First make the pages a site in dreamweaver then press Ctrl + F and select Find
in entire local site. Then use find and replace as usual but click replace all
instead of replace.

There's some info in Dreamweavers help, but I couldn't be bothered to read it all.
