Hello,
I'm kind of new to emulation and I wish to expand my horizons. I want to compress several snes roms into one rom for the n64 in which i may choose from a list the game i wish to play. Super Mario all-stars for the snes has several nes roms to choose from on it and i would like something similar for my n64 emulator.
Why? Because i have the emulators on my iphone and the snes does have wiimote support while the n64 does. please give me something to go on. I appreciate any help that I may recieve. Thank you.

You can not compress roms in to one rom, as roms are indexed. Most info in a rom is in the place it needs to be so putting a rom at the end of another would mess up that second rom.

The only way to do this is to compress your roms in to a 7z/rar file and have the emulator know how to handle it. but chances are you wont get the emulator author for your i-pod to do this for you.

But, perhaps I'm wrong on both accounts.

I would hope that you are mistaken. Is there a possiblity of making a nintendo64 emulator read a rom for the snes. possibly changing the format of the file along with the file extension. I don't really know...

You can get a snes emulator for the n64, and its possible that a n64 emulator will allow you to run the snes emulator. but if you think the n64 emulator is going to run a snes rom, or read it nativity, you nutz. Not going to happen..

and how would i go about getting a snes emulator for the n64? You see that why non of this made sense really. But ok perhaps you just didnt realize.. Yes a snes game is not compatible with a n64. You cant go playing a snes rom on the n64 just Nativity. To be honest I dont then the n64 is powerful enough to emulate the snes, could be wrong. In a very stretch metaphoric sense, think of it like languages. For a Spanish fellow to understand Chinese with no prior training he would need an interpreter . If I have a room that fits two people we are SOL if the room could only hold a speaker and a listener. If it had enough room for a translator then we are good, if there is such a translator.

Room = n64 ram
Spanish = snes code
Chinese = n64 code
Translator = emulator

Room holds 2.5 people. ( n64 only has so much power )
Since the snes is a full person, he wont fit.. If he was like his thinner son NES, then it would work.

Ok a bitt silly yes, but maybe that helps paint a better picture.

That was a very interesting way to explain it. Thank you for being so thorough. All help is greatly appreciated.
