Speed Link gamepad trouble

Hi I have a Speedlink 360 Style Gamepad USB (SL-6555-SBK) and whenever i use it in a emulator (Project64 in this case) it keeps sort of disconnecting from my pc so i'm not able to use it anymore, resulting in me having to pull it out of my pc and plug it back in, just to wait a couple of minutes for it to disconnect again.
Anyone have a solution for this?

You might want to check your USB hubs for dirt and grime, or just check your USB. Other then that, I can't recommend anything but to just get a new controller.
