playing gameboy advance over wifi on mac

hey guys. im new to these forums and i got a question regarding playing a gameboy advance emulator on my mac, and being able to connect to other players over wifi. like battling or trading pokemon in one of the pokemon games. is there anyway i can do this because i faintly remember being able to connect to other players over wifi before using something on my mac.

Im actually not sure, Ive heard about it working for Windows but I don't know if they have developed Internet play for the Mac.
