Final Fantasy VII soundless cutscenes

I've been playing Final Fantasy VII and it runs just fine on epsxe except on cutscenes i can here the music of the video but sound efects like an explosion for instance just aren't there.

Its either a crap CD Rip that's had sound taken out or you need to try a different sound plugin. Most likely the former though, in which case you would need to find a better source for it or make a new ISO from an original Disk.
