Erm.. this problem is rather odd and I am uncertain how to explain this. Let me start off by saying that we're using Mupen 64k for emulating because P64 doesn't work on Vista.
Now, couple weeks ago we played on the Kaillera network with my friend just fine. However, when we tried to play Mario Party 1-3, there would be MASSIVE flickering and the game was just unplayable. I fixed this by downloading Glide 64 plugin, and he got Rice video build and messed with the settings, not really sure what he did but w/e. Now it worked just fine.
The problems started when we added another friend into our group, now there was 3 of us. He installed Mupen 64k and I gave him the Glide Plugin ( He also tried Rice ).. There was no flickering indeed but we got this very weird desynchronization problem. I'm not sure if that's the right word but hear me out..
Everything that would happen in the game, would be different in each players screen. Let's say that for me Yoshi would be first in turns, and Luigi Second and then Mario. In my friends screen, it could be first Mario, then Luigi and last Yoshi and so on. Impossible to play like that, no ? What was even more weird that no matter how f***ed up it went as we played for couple rounds, we never got disconnected or anything, it just was out of sync like that.
After this I tried MP just with my friend again, but the same thing happened suddenly - even though we were using the exactly same settings than before, which makes it even more confusing.
We tried a fresh install of Mupen with absolutely no plugins and THEN it would not go out of sync like that, but if we tried to apply Rice Video builder plugin to it, the same thing would happen.
1. Why the hell does this happen, and how can this happen anyway ?
2. Why did it work before but not anymore ?
3. Could someone point me to a working video plugin for MP games that does not cause flickering, so that we could test out the game and see if it goes out of sync ?
*Sorry* for perhaps a confusing post. Do ask if there's something you're wondering about. I'd really like help with this, as it is now we can't play at all.
Thanks in advance, - Dist.
