Hey all.

The other day I tried to get back into playing SF on mame, but the only versions I can find of mame have mameppkgui.exe This poses a problem as it tries to re-write the cd every time I want to play. However, back when I used to play I had mamenodllppkgui.exe for version 0.117 and it never gave me any issues even with cd writing.

I've searched and searched and the only nodllppkgui executable that I can find is for version 0.116 which does not run the games very smoothly.

So basically I'm asking if anyone here has any idea where I can find a copy. >.<

Thanks!

am i understanding you correct, you want to use MAME from a cd? or dvd?

No. When you download mame and try to run the downloaded roms it takes a half hour the first time because it "re-writes the cd." However, I used to have an exe called mamenodllppkgui.exe that would run the roms without attempting to "re-write" anything.
I have been able to locate this exe for mame 0.116, but not for 0.117 which is what I had before and need now for smooth online play.

I assume you're trying to play SF III? It should only 're-write' the CD the very first time you use the game.

What version of MAME are you using (eg: MAMEUI, MAMEXT)?

yea... CPS3 games like SF3 just create the 'cd' the first time you run it using MAME.

Yes but when playing online it tries to re-write the cd every time you start a game. However I no longer have this problem. I found an emulator called GGPO. Works like a charm.
Thanks for your help anyway guys! Much appreciated.
