Alittle help with Compact Wireless-G USB Network Adapter

Hi everyone I just got A Compact Wireless-G USB Network Adapter with Speed Booster Model No. WUSB54GSC I love it the only thing is I do not understand the speed keeps changing like it may be running at 54 Kps then it will change to 35 Kps or 11 Kps and the laptop is the only computer on it. I got it at Walmart for $39.95 here are the Specifications on it.

Thanks so can I get my laptop to see my desktop so I can get music and mp4s from it I do not like to use a usb flash drive it is only a 256 MB.

You need to setup File sharing. Plenty of guides on google should be able to show you.
