Graphics exeption with pj64 on hp 2.4 ,512ram intel x-graphics 2??

Hi im having real trouble running games on this system, its my sons pc he has in his room, pj64 runs fine on my pc runing xp p4 but on his p4 hp it keeps coming up with a error message graphics exeption. is there anything i can do to sort this??
