Okay, a few years back I procured a collection of DVDs with all roms on them, and they stated they were for MAME version 1.17/1.18 and just recently have found time to actually play with 'em

I've been a MAME32 user for ages since it came out, I have 0.71 tho on their 'official' site, their latest version is 0.36 or something?!?!?

So, what I'm asking, with the (complete) romsets I have, what version of MAME am I able to use? I've looked around hard and long and haven't found any info, especially from the dead links of the original MAME forum...seems all of my links from back then are all dead!

I do appreciate any help without flaming.:bow::bow:

It's hard to say how old those roms are on the DVDs

Anyway here is where you can get old mames you can even get mame from 1997 here.

They are comand line only :(

So you will need to get a GUI I have not tried this so it may not work

Emuloader 5.6.2

Hope this helps

All previous versions of Mame32 (now MameUI) can be found here.

For maximum compatibility use version 1.17 or 1.18 if that's the romset you've got.
