Hello every one :)

I was just wondering in you experience what is the best emulator and plugins and even system requirements to run Goldeneye 007, Perfect Dark, Pilotwings 64, Lylatwars, Zelda & Mario64. ;)

I only have a slow computer, its a AthlonXP 2500+, 512mb RAM, 64mb GF2 MX 400, Win98 SE. I have also tried it on a friends computer, it is a AthlonXP 3200+, 512mb, 128mb GFFX 5200, Win98 SE

I have no problem running Mario64 on both I can even very old PC using Corn. :P

But with Goldeneye 007 it runs with PJ64 and 1964 but tends to go slow and jerky all the time on both. I think its something to do with the frame rate limiter as is you switch it of it looks to run smooth just to fast.

I’ve only got Pilotwings 64 to run under PJ64 but on my computer there are massive graphics problems, with things missing and a massive black mark in the screen. But on my friends computer it looks much better but there are still many problems. Can any one help? Some one suggested ripping my Voodoo4 4500 out of my old PC and putting in my new one and trying a glide drive. Would that work do you think? :(

As for Perfect Dark, Lylatwars and Zelda I’m going to have to try and get a back up device to copy them as my friend has sold his some time back. But what is the best system to run them on?

Thank you for any help. :)

LOL well what your comparing it to.

My graphics card is very slow, you can even get onboard graphics that is much faster now. Also compared to the CPUs out know my AthlonXP is slow even though it say its a 2500+ it is much slower than modern P4s and AMD64s even at the same rating. but compared to my old PCs its fast. My older PC is a Celeron 400Mhz with 64mb RAM and Voodoo4 4500, my older one still is a Pentium 166Mhz 128Mb RAM (RAM was given relatively reasonably) and 2mb S3 card plus dual 12mb Voodoo2s.

Just ignore him. Every post he makes is just an excuse to show off his computer or pretend he actually learned something at University.

LOL only one day and there is already people that don’t like me. :o

Well ok then if you really want to know I failed University I think it was that I spent more time in pubs than doing my asinments and am now just a computer system worker. :(

I was also genuinely under the impression that I old GF2 was a slow card as its about 4 generations old. I’ve also got the budget MX version. It douse not even support DX8. I think this could be the reason for many of the graphics problems I am having in Pilotwings 64. As for my CPU its one of the cheapest ones you can get now. I even got it of my brother in lore as a upgrade from my Duron 1.2Ghz because he’s upgraded.

i cant think of an integrated graphics better than the MX series.... maybe the IGP 9200, but other than that, nothing is better.

its not that slow... i still dont mind using my old 1ghz tbird for basic word processing, surfing and starcraft

just so that you dont think i'm jelous, my main box is an XP-M barton at 2.6ghz, 9600xt...etc

Hello onewecallgod I like the sound of your PC :) . I dont really know much about the onboard GPUS but I believe these are basically as good to much better than the card I have, Abit NF7-M has a GF4MX, Abit nf7-m has GF4, ASUS A7N266 has a GF2, Epox EP-8RGA and EP-8RGA+ have GF4MX, EP-8RGMI has GF4MX, ASUS P4R800-VM has RADEON 9100, EQS-A44P8-MLF RADEON 9200, Gigabyte GA-8TRS300M has RADEON 9100 and I also believe there is onboard Radeon 9600 now.

But My the real question was what system and software do I need to run Goldeneye 007, Perfect Dark, Pilotwings 64, Lylatwars, Zelda & Mario64. At a good speed and quality?

Thank you

It's a KNOWN ISSUE. It's not the computer's fault, but the core of the emulator.
