As stated on the title, the battle command window(the window in which you select your attack,GF,item, etc) for Final Fantasy VIII is not visible.
I was able to select it,though. But selecting blindly leads me to nowhere.
Anyone encountered this problem before and has a solution to it?Please guide me to fix this error-I've spent days downloading the files from disc1-disc4 and I certainly don't want the effort and patience to go waste.
Help and guidance from anyone of you here are the most appreciated.:)

Try it with the PSX emulator, if it works ok with that then use a different video plug-in with ePSXe something like Petes OpenGL2 should be ok.
If it doesn't display properly with PSX then update your graphics drivers and DirectX, if that doesn't fix it then its probably a bad ISO.

Found a solution last night, switched my video plugin from pete's open to "P.E.Op.S soft driver" which I think is pete's soft.
The menus show fine now, but aftr the switch I had to go in and restrict the FPS. Also, I may have frgoten something but I have learned boost with a few GFs and I'm not seeing the little square button icon at the bottom of the screen when I use them, not sure if boost needs to b et to on somewhere or if it's a problem along the same lines. Either way doesn't really matter much, I don't recall it being the source of any great difference.

Found the solution to it already.Sorry for late information.
I changed the texture drawing to enhanced, the 3rd option which shows more stuff.
The rest of the game is fine.No glitch,no momre problems.
Oh,by the way,in order to boost for your GFs,you must press "Select" button while you push the square button.Yes,"select" button from the PS controller, which is one of your keyboard button now.

I had my FFVIII playing just fine until I got to the robot spider boss then it started getting really choppy...unplayable choppy. FFIX was that way from the very start. It was suggested to me that I change my video plug in to P.E.Op.S. Soft Driver which I did. That got rid of the Choppiness but now I have no battle windows. There is no game fix option for the final Fantasy games like there is on the other plug in that I was using. I have a windows 8 laptop. I was running eSXPe 1.8 but didn't like it because the change disk option didn't work and one of that games that I really wanted to play, required that you do that. So now I am using eSXPe 1.9. My old computer ran all the final fantasy games flawlessly. It was a Windows 7 PC with eSXPe 1.8. My new computer has better video, more RAM, more powerful processor...just Windows 8 instead and now I can't seem to run any of the games properly.
So if I am still having problems with P.E.Op.S. Soft Driver not displaying the battle windows, any idea how I might can fix it?
P.S. before it is suggested, I never could get eSXPe 1.7 to work correctly for me either, the screen stretching never seemed to work and I had to always play in window. I also went back and dired eSXPe 1.8 with this new laptop and it too is choppy unless I use P.E.Op.S. Soft Driver, and then I run into the same problem....my problems seem to be Windows 8.
