Black flimmering around HP bar in ff VIII

Hey i recently downloaded and installed epsxe to play FF VIII on my computer and i followed the installation guide here on the forum, and i have discovered some black flimmering around the hp bars when i enter a fight
other than that the game runs just fine

any ideas how to make this dissapear? answers are appreciated! thanks
