PSP connects to X-Box

According to some developers as reported on gaming sites including THIS article, the upcoming PlayStation Portable (PSP) will be able to connect to the X-Box console! It has been known for some time that the PSP can connect to a PC and a PS2 game system. Media files can then be transferred from the PC, whereas the PS2 connection will be used to transfer game data. However, several developer documents allegedly mention the option of connecting with a Micro$oft X-Box as well!

Experts tout this option as "remarkable, but smart." It sounds unbelievable that the PSP can be connected to a competitor's game system. "Independent game developers like Atari, EA, and Ubisoft will have the option of implementing the same connectivity features in the X-Box versions of their games as in the PS2 versions." Some possibilities of the PS2-PSP connection are downloading game demos to the PSP, exchanging savegames, and unlocking certain parts of the games. More to come on this, however, many facts may not be ultimately seperated from rumor until the PSP's retail release in March, 2005... or even later according to GameSpot.com.

The above news is taken from www.ps2ownz.com...

Great news if Sony is seriously planning to do it. One more thing that I wanted to speculate. Nntendo's DS is able to detect a nearby DS while in a certain range. Is PSP able to do that?
