Cant get Pokemon on the run.

I got Visual Boy Advance, the 1.8.0-beta3 version, and when I try to start Pokemon Emerald or Firered, all it say is "Loaded Battery" and show a white screen. What should I do?

try to change to flash 128 k and use vba 1.7.2
